Today I Learned: Scott Frost Plays Scout Team Quarterback
Today I Learned: Scott Frost Plays Scout Team Quarterback
This week's collection of fun college football facts.
The internet is an educational place.
Here's a collection of information we've gleaned from the World Wide Web this week. Some of it useful -- some of it, not so much.
Today I learned…
Michigan's Maurice Hurst drives an Uber.
If you need a ride in Ann Arbor, MI, a future NFL Draft pick is waiting to scoop you up. Michigan defensive end Maurice Hurst drives for Uber in his spare time -- and he's a pretty spectacular driver, by the way.
Hurst has a 4.9 rating with no trips canceled.

He's rushing the passer on Saturday and successfully navigating rush-hour traffic on Monday. See what I did there?
Rumors of JT Barrett's demise were greatly exaggerated.
Ohio State lost to Oklahoma. JT Barrett didn't play great. The internet lost its mind.
Since then? Barrett is 99-for-137 passing with 1,851 yards, 18 touchdowns, and zero interceptions -- good for a quarterback rating of damn near 200, which is good even on NCAA Football '14 (RIP).
The only two quarterbacks with a higher passer rating than Barrett (178.1) now possesses for the season are Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma State's Mason Rudolph.
OK State's offense is actually even better than I thought (and I thought it was really good).
To this point in the season, 16 FBS offenses have fewer than nine gains of 30-plus yards. Let that sink in.
Good and sunk?
Oklahoma State registered nine 30-plus yarders in one game against Baylor. Cowboys wide receiver James Washington, alone, was responsible for three such big-gainers.
North Alabama brings live lions to games.
North Alabama is known as the Lions, and they take their nickname very seriously. UNA has live lion mascots named Leo III and Una -- and the school brings Leo and Una to games.
That's enough to make a suite (with a locked door) seem like a pretty, shall we say, "appetizing" investment if you ask me. Here's a live look at the Lions' lions chillin' in their den, waiting for game day.
UCF head coach Scott Frost is playing scout team quarterback.
Central Florida head coach Scott Frost was once Nebraska quarterback Scott Frost. Remember?
Frost's players probably don't, but they're getting a crash course this week. That's because, in preparation for Navy's option attack on Saturday in Annapolis, MD, Frost is lining up as the quarterback of Knights' scout team.
UALR may revive its football program -- and move into the loudest stadium in the country*.
New Little Rock athletic director Chase Conque is looking to bring football back to the school after a five-decade absence.
The initial investment -- and subsequent budget increase -- would be no joke. But with War Memorial Stadium now tenant free, it makes sense for the Trojans to consider getting in on some of that #FunBelt action.
*According to Mike Leach.
