Towson finished with 72 plays for 396 yards (208 rushing and 188 passing), while William & Mary had 55 plays for 341 yards (212 rushing and 129 passing).
The Towson defense made all the difference in the win, sacking the Tribe twice and recovering a pair of William & Mary fumbles.
Individually, senior running back Devin Matthews did much of the leg work for Towson, stepping in for an injured D’Ago Hunter and turning in a season-best 117 yards on 20 rushes. His third-quarter touchdown helped the Tigers tie the game at 17.
