The Michigan Tech Football team was 3-0 entering GLIAC play and undefeated in non-conference play in 2023 but found life in the rough and tumble GLIAC harsh. 

But still, progress was made in the 5-5 campaign in 2023 in coach Dan Mettlach's first season. A program legend and one of the best Husky quarterbacks ever, Mettlach was promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach in November 2022.
