Towson finished middle of the pack in the CAA, ending up at 5-6 for the 2023 season. But the Tigers pulled out some gritty wins last season, especially in the second half of the campaign. Towson beat UNH in a 54-51 OT thriller, and defeated William & Mary and Rhode Island. They also lost by only seven points to eventual FCS semifinalist UAlbany.

The Tigers return starting quarterback Nathan Kent this season, one of the more experienced QBs in the CAA. Kent will get his second season behind the wheel, but he also spent the two seasons prior to that learning the Towson system.

Towson begins their season visiting an FBS school, Cincinatti, which presents quite a challenge. They also play FCS behemoth North Dakota State in the fourth week of the season.
