Angelo State football has been one of the most consistent college football programs in Division II in recent years.

The Rams have appeared at or near the top of the Lone Star Conference for the last decade and won a conference championship in 2022 - going 9-0 in conference play.

In 2023, the team went 7-3 overall, just missing out on a spot in the Division II playoffs. Conference foes Central Washington and UT-Permian Basin were the LSC representatives in the D2 playoffs last year - Central Washington made it as far as the quarterfinals before being offed by national champion runner-up Colorado School of Mines.

So where does that leave ASU? Well, pretty well. The team ranked No. 10 in total defense to end last season. They're ranked No. 25 in the AFCA Division II Football Coaches Poll.

When Do The 2024 D2 College Football Playoffs Start?

The D2 college football playoffs begin on November 23, 2024.

The 2024 Division II College Football Championship game will be played December 21 at the McKinney ISD Stadium in McKinney, Texas.
