Texas A&M-Kingsville has been a member of the Lone Star Conference since 1954. In fact, they've been active members longer than any other team currently in the conference. The Javelinas have a storied football program, garnering 34 conference titles in their history. 

The last came in 2009, and after a run of mediocre seasons in the latter half of the 2010s, Texas A&M-Kingsville is once again on the verge of ascendance.

The last two seasons, the Javelinas have gone 7-3 and 7-5, landing near the top of the LSC, and fielding one of the most rounded teams in the conference. A&M-Kingsville ranked No. 4 and both offense and defense in the conference last season. 

The Javelinas will miss Christian Anderson, who graduated last year. The running back was the team's leading scorer last year, tallying seven touchdowns on 125 carries. Expect Roger Hagen to step in seamlessly, though, the redshirt senior had six touchdowns last year on only 62 carries, averaging nearly a touchdown per 10 carries.

When Do The 2024 D2 College Football Playoffs Start?

The D2 college football playoffs begin on November 23, 2024.

The 2024 Division II College Football Championship game will be played December 21 at the McKinney ISD Stadium in McKinney, Texas.
