The 2023 season is history and a new season wipes the record clean, and according to Northern Michigan coach Shane Richardson, the vibe in 2024 is pretty positive for the Wildcats.

Northern Michigan football went 0-11 in 2023 and coaches in the GLIAC don’t expect the program to take a massive leap in 2024. But they also don’t expect them to finish last, that distinction is on newcomer Roosevelt.

Richardson told reporters before the home opener against No. 17-ranked Minnesota Duluth that the vibes in practice are “positive” and the players are clearer in what direction the program is taking. 

After going 0-11, there’s only one way the Wildcats can go, which is up. But to snap the 11-game losing streak the program is on, they’ll have to do so against one of the best rushing attacks in Division II football from 2023 in Minnesota Duluth.
