DeSoto High School football will play their first game of the season, when they host Creekside high school football out of Georgia. DeSoto, who is the undisputed best HS football team in Texas, has won back-to-back state championships and currently sits at No. 6 in the High School Football America 300.

The Eagles have a roster packed with prospects, including six in the top 300 of the 2025 class in Texas, according to 247Sports' rankings. Keep an eye on DeSoto running back Deondrae Riden, who is at the top of that list, and is already committed to Texas A&M. You'll also see big offensive lineman Byron Washington clearing the way for Riden. Washington is 6-foot-7 and 380 pounds and has committed to Syracuse. 

Creekside is ranked No. 82 in the HSFA 300, went 13-2 in the 2023 season, but already has a loss in the first week of the year, having been defeated by Westside last week. 

DeSoto vs. Creekside kicks off Saturday, August 31 at 6:00 p.m. ET.
