Susquehanna Football started the 2024 Division III football season by dominating the Eagles of Bridgewater College on Sept. 6 in the home opener. 

And now the River Hawks face a sneaky test on two fronts in Week 2 in the form of SUNY Brockport.

Brockport beat Buffalo State 27-0 in its season opener in a rivalry game known as the “I-90 Bowl.” Now the squad comes to Selinsgrove, Pa. looking to upset the No. 11 team in the country.

And for Susquehanna, the challenge this week is to take on one SUNY program at a time. The River Hawks face one of their biggest challenges of the season in Week 3 against defending Division III National Champion SUNY Cortland on Sept. 21. Cortland’s only loss in their 14-1 championship campaign came at home against Susquehanna in 2023. 

But first comes Brockport. 

In what was one of the most challenging games of their 2023 season, the River Hawks barely survived their trip to Brockport, New York, winning 6-5 in a game that featured more safeties than touchdowns.
