Grand Valley State Football survived a furious rally by Colorado State University Pueblo 24-21 after the Thunderwolves scored two fourth quarter touchdowns, and 21 points overall in the second half on Sept. 14. 

The Lakers crushed Central State in Week 1 but were tested in the second half by Pueblo before they face a tough Wisconsin-La Crosse team that beat Northern Michigan 35-21 and is ranked No. 5 in the Division III poll. 

Meanwhile, Ferris State had no problem with Ashland, cruising to a 43-3 win over Ashland and tallying 530 yards of offense. The Bulldogs have bounced back from its Week 1 loss to Pittsburgh State by beating Lake Erie and Ashland by a combined 99-6.

In the Lone Star Conference, Angelo State edged Eastern New Mexico 26-20 in a tightly contested game. Angelo State's defense delivered in the second half, holding Eastern New Mexico scoreless after giving up 20 points in the first two quarters. The Rams' balanced offense helped secure the win, capped by a crucial fourth-quarter field goal to seal the victory. Angelo State’s postseason hopes remain intact as they continue to push up the conference standings.

In SAC action, Wingate’s strong defensive effort propelled them to a 21-7 victory over Delta State.

Wingate allowed just one touchdown, showcasing a stifling defensive line. The Bulldogs’ ground game controlled the tempo, and key turnovers helped keep Delta State from mounting a serious comeback.
