The game began with a rapid exchange of scores, including a 98-yard kickoff return by Barton's Khavarie Hightower and a subsequent 64-yard rushing touchdown by Jeremiah Carroll.
Carson-Newman's Jayden Sullins had an incredible 261 yards on the day, to go with one touchdown. He averaged 84 yards per carry.
Despite a fumble recovery touchdown that allowed Barton to take the lead, the Eagles were able to use their ground game to score two more TDs and maintain the lead until the final whistle.
