Numerous teams struggled but pulled away with slight wins including No. 14 Tarleton State who survived a scare with a one point victory against Southern Utah. No. 1 South Dakota State and No. 2 North Dakota State came away with dominant 41-3 and 41-7 wins respectively against Northern Iowa and North Dakota.
