Four teams currently sit atop the Lone Star Conference standings at 3-0: Central Washington, Western Oregon, Texas A&M Kingsville, and Angelo State. But after this week, that number will shrink to at least three. 

Angelo State Football hosts Texas A&M Kingsville as both teams look to improve to 4-0 in conference play and get a crucial win that could send them into the rankings. Angelo State is coming off a dominating 36-7 win against UT Permian Basin, a game that wasn't much of a challenge after UTPB lost their star quarterback. The Rams arguably have yet to be challenged in conference play as their other two wins have come against winless Eastern and Western New Mexico.

Texas A&M Kingsville has played more competitive teams, being tested in the first week of conference play, pulling out a gritty 20-14 win at UT Permian Basin, a team that looked like they would be sitting atop the conference rankings at the time. Their other two wins come against winless Sul Ross State and a 1-2 Midwestern State. 

The two teams will kick off on Saturday, October 12th at 6:00 p.m. CST in San Angelo, Texas.
