While most of the NCAA Division II Football world will be watching the another massive Michigan matchup, Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech will be the opening act on Oct. 26 for GLIAC Michigan football.

The noon kickoff is the start of a busy day in the GLIAC, which culminates at 3 p.m. ET with the Anchor-Bone Classic between Ferris State and GVSU. But before that, there’s the Miner’s Cup.

The Miner’s Cup has officially been around since 2002 but the rivalry between the two programs goes back to 1920. Michigan Tech leads the Miner’s Cup 18-3.

But Northern Michigan (0-7, 0-3) is looking to snap one of the nation’s longest losing streaks, one that started on Aug. 31, 2023 and is now up to 18 games against rival Michigan Tech. The Huskies are coming off  a 51-13 loss to Ferris State on Oct. 19.

Michigan Tech (4-3, 1-2) is looking to finish the season with a winning record and to do that, the Huskies can’t afford to lose at home.

And the Miner’s Cup is streaming live for free on FloFootball’s social media platforms, including YouTube. Here’s what to know about Northern Michigan vs. Michigan Tech.
