Ferris State and Grand Valley State clashed in the highly anticipated 2024 Anchor Bone Classic at Lubbers Stadium in Allendale, Michigan.

Led by Trinidad Chambliss, the Bulldogs won by a final score of 34-7, as the team was dominant on both sides of the ball.

Chambliss was unstoppable on offense, accumulating 114 passing yards, 122 rushing yards and scoring three touchdowns. 

The Bulldogs' defense limited GVSU's offensive drives, spearheaded by Konnor Near's 10 tackes. Ferris State also forced multiple turnovers.

Grand Valley State struggled without starting quarterback Avery Moore, who left the game due to injury. 

The Lakers managed to score only one touchdown, a 45-yard rush by Cody Tierney.

The game solidifies Ferris State's reputation as a contender this season, and should push them into the top spot in the Top 25, where GVSU was at gametime. 

It also sets the stage for a potential rematch in the D2 college football playoffs, something that has happened the last three years between the two teams.

Trinidad Chambliss had a huge game as the Ferris State Bulldogs defeated the Grand Valley State Lakers in the 2024 edition of the Anchor-Bone Classic. 

GVSU quarterback Avery Moore exited in the 2nd quarter with an injury. His backup Ike Udengwu, exited in the second half with an injury as well. 

But it mattered not, as Ferris State headed into halftime with a 13-0 lead and took over the in the second half, allowing GVSU only one touchdown on the day. 

Chambliss and the Bulldogs defense were the stars of the day in front of a packed crowd at Lubbers Stadium. 

It feels likely these teams will see each other again in the D2 playoffs, as they have each of the last three seasons.
