Newly ranked Valdosta State football hosts Chowan looking to keep pace in Super Region Two

No. 1 Valdosta State Football is one of two undefeated teams in Super Region Two as the Blazers, who played for the NCAA Division II championship in 2021, are trying to win their first championship since 2018. 

The other undefeated Super Region Two team is Johnson C. Smith (8-0). 

But before the Blazers can think of the postseason, they must first get past the end of the Gulf South Conference, and that includes a matchup with Chowan at 3 p.m. on Nov. 2.

Chowan is 2-5 and aiming to score what would be one of the biggest upsets of Division II football against the Blazers on the road. Valdosta State is also coming off a bye week and now ranked No. 1 thanks to No. 2 Ferris State knocking off then No. 1 Grand Valley State on Oct. 26.
