Valdosta State, Ferris State Remain The Top Two Teams
- Blazers and Bulldogs still at the top - Both of these teams put up 50 points against their opponents to stay unbeaten in conference play this past week to establish dominance and show everyone why they are the top two-ranked teams in the division. Valdosta State football has a road challenge this week against Delta State, who we know can hang with the best of them, and Ferris State will face Saginaw Valley State at home.
Grand Valley State Football Bounces Back
- GVSU moves back up the rankings - After a lopsided loss in the biggest game of the season and losing their starting quarterback, Avery Moore. Grand Valley State football played a great game, especially on the offensive side of the ball, which was questioned the most coming into the game. It may have come against a winless team, but it is never easy putting up 50 points on an opponent.
Notable Results Of Other Matchups Including Ranked Teams
- Ouachita Baptist falls from the top five - Once the Tigers defeated Harding, it seemed as if they were primed to be a major problem for the rest of the season and heading into the playoffs. Not to say that cannot still be the case, but losing this past week with the playoffs coming soon.
Colorado State-Pueblo comes away with a big win - The Thunderwolves came away with the biggest win of the week when they defeated the Western Colorado Mountaineers. This 44-34 victory would be enough to propel them into the top ten coming into this week ranked at No. 8.Big losses for Emporia State and Lenoir-Rhyne - What looked like nearly automatic wins for the Hornets and Bears turned into bad loses that almost put them completely out of the top rankings and sets them back majorly in general.
