It may seem like Division 2 football contenders are falling into place like a game of Plinko.

But, with the playoffs on the precipice, there is still plenty that can go wrong for teams' in the driver's seat holding the Plinko chip.

The week of possibilities? The week of nightmares? The week of disorder?

I present to you: Week 11 of the Division 2 College Football season.

For each and every contender this week, there is an equal number of boogeymen ready to:

(╯ ͝° ͜ʖ͡°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Here's why you should watch these five games this week.

How To Watch D2 Football In 2024

In 2024, hundreds of Division II football games will stream live on FloFootball and the FloSports app.

Game replays, highlights and breaking news will be on both platforms.

Why To Watch GVSU Vs. Michigan Tech

  • Records:
    • No. 5 Grand Valley State 8-1
    • Michigan Tech 6-3
  • Day/Time: Saturday, November 9 at 12:00 p.m. ET
  • Stream link
  • The GVSU Machine

    • Something that sets programs like Grand Valley State apart from other programs is their ability to weather injuries and attrition.
    • Case in point: quarterback Vinnie Meschi leading the Lakers to a 51-28 win against Wayne State last week.
  • The Meschi Math

    • Meschi is three quarterbacks removed from last year's GVSU starter Cade Peterson.
    • After Peterson graduated, Avery Moore took over the starting job, with Ike Udengwu backing Moore up.
    • Moore had an incredible year before being injured against Ferrris State.
    • Udengwu was hurt a few quarters later.
    • But, if you watch GVSU, you know they make a habit of playing multiple backups every single game, whether they are winning or not, though it certainly helps when you're up 40 points.
    • Thus, Meschi has been able to step in, with a completely different set of skills compared to Moore, and steer GVSU to victory.
  • Put It In The Pot Call It Fumble-aya

    • Michigan Tech is a solid team at 6-3. They have above-average stats in most categories and a strong starting quarterback in Alex Fries.
    • But, one stat that stands out is their ability to recover fumbles.
    • The Huskies have 8 fumble recoveries in nine games. The team in the nation, UNC Pembroke, has 11.
    • Last week, Michigan Tech had 2 fumble recoveries, 3 sacks, and 2 interceptions.
    • Bonus stat: Michigan Tech only has 45 penalties on the season, good enough to be tied for the top 10 in D2.
  • The Boogeyman Rating: 6.5

    • There are teams knocking at the door of Super Region Three for a playoff spot. If GVSU loses this game in a late-season bout, it could derail their chances. With that said, Ferris State dispatched MTU handily.

Why To Watch Valdosta State Vs. Delta State

  • Records:
    • No. 1 Valdosta State 8-0
    • Delta State 5-3
  • Day/Time: Saturday, November 9 at 3:00 p.m. ET
  • Stream link
  • 'V' Is For Very Efficient Offense

    • Valdosta has one of the best offenses in Division 2.
    • Here's an assortment of impressive stats:
    • VSU has the 7th-best total offense in D2 at 487 yards per game.
    • The Blazers have 46 touchdowns on the season through 8 games, good enough for 7th-best. Every other team in the top 20 of total TDs has played 9 games.
    • VSU is 5th in Yards Per Play, at 7.49.
  • Answers To The Test

    • Valdosta is undefeated at 8-0 on the season. They dodged a game against West Alabame due to the hurricane in September.
    • Delta State will truly be their first big test of the season. This game will be followed by West Florida, next week, in the last game of the regular season.
    • North Greenville played VSU the best of anyone this season. They are the only team to score 20+ points against the Blazers but ultimately lost 32-24.
  • Bring Back Blaze The Dragon Part 2

    • If you recall, last week, I requested that VSU bring back Blaze the Dragon as their mascot.
    • The request stands.
  • Boogeyman Rating: 3

    • If Valdosta loses it'll be their first loss, but it feels like this team is destined for the playoffs regardless.

Why To Watch North Greenville Vs. West Florida

  • Records:
    • North Greenville
    • No. 17 West Florida
  • Day/Time: Saturday, November 9 at 3:00 p.m. ET
  • Stream link
  • 7 x 10 = 70 and 0 x 0 = 0

    • The Argos absolutely destroyed Erskine last week, 70-0.
    • UWF accumulated 532 total yards and averaged 7.9 yards per play.
    • They had 7 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns.
    • And, in case you missed it, they shut out Erskine.
  • North Greenville Is A Chaos Agent

    • NGU's 4-4 record really isn't indicative of their quality.
    • The Trailblazers lost a couple of odd games to start the season. But since then, the only teams they've lost to are West Alabama and Valdosta.
    • They played well against both, losing to Valdosta, 32-24 and West Alabama, 17-14.
    • NGU also defeated Delta State when they were ranked in the Top 25, winning by 2 points after four overtimes, 47-45.
  • This Game Is Streaming FREE

  •  Boogeyman Rating: 6

    • The Argos need the win, especially as they head into a game against Valdosta next week.

Why To Watch Saginaw Valley State Vs. Ferris State

  • Records:
    • No. 2 Ferris State 8-1
    • Saginaw Valley State 7-2
  • Day/Time: Saturday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Stream link
  • Ferris State Gets Their Flowers

    • Despite not being ranked No. 1 in the AFCA Coaches Poll, FSU received the ranking from D2Football this week.
    • In that Top 25, Valdosta is No. 2, behind the Bulldogs.
    • Also notable, Saginaw Valley is not ranked in the AFCA, but is ranked No. 24 by D2Football.
    • Any way you slice it, Ferris State is one of the best D2 schools by quite a margin.
  • Runaway Bulldog

    • Ferris State lost their first game of the season. Since then, they've had eight consecutive wins.
    • After defeating GVSU earlier this season, Ferris has some cushion. They could afford a loss and probably be fine to make the playoffs.
    • More likely, Ferris State runs the board.
  • Saginaw Valley Is Back, Baby

    • After going 6-5 last year, the Saginaw Valley has come back strong.
    • The Cardinals are positioned well at No. 8 in Super Region Three rankings.
  • Boogeyman Rating: 4.5

Why to Watch Angelo State Vs. Western Oregon

  • Records:
    • No. 23 Angelo State 7-2
    • Western Oregon 6-3
  • Day/Time: Saturday, November 9 at 4:00 p.m. ET
  • Stream link
  • Welcome To The Party, Angelo State

    • Angelo State finally cracked the AFCA Top 25 this week, landing at No. 23.
    • All it took was getting to a 7-2 record and upsetting one of the best teams in the LSC the last few seasons, Central Washington.
    • After losing their first two games of the season, the Rams have been led by a dominant defense, going 7-0 in their conference.
  • Western Oregon Jumping Out Of A Cake On Your Birthday

    • Western Oregon is 100 percent the biggest surprise in the Lone Star Conference this season.
    • They've mostly flown under the radar, but after going 9-13 through their first two seasons in the LSC, they are 6-3 so far this season.
    • Running back Dominique Loggins leads the offense, having run for 675 yards so far this season, with 5.0 yards per rush.
    • On defense, the Wolves have five players with at least 3 sacks. And DB Andrew Simpson has 6 interceptions.
  • Boogeyman Rating: 3

    • If we're honest, whoever wins this game probably is the boogeyman.
