The Battle for the Golden Apple commences on Nov. 9 in the Empire State as UAlbany Football (3-6) travels to Long Island to face No. 18 Stony Brook Football (7-2).

But it’s been a completely different vibe for the Seawolves. It’s not a stretch to call the Seawolves the best story in college football, FCS or FBS, in the country. A 0-10 season in 2023, Stony Brook is ranked and in position to make the playoffs and win the CAA title with a 4-1 record. 

The Battle for the Golden Apple has been played 25 times and UAlbany has a 15-10 edge in the rivalry. They won this game 38-20 a year ago. Stony Brook is seeking its first win since back-to-back victories in March 2021 and November 2021.
