After the penultimate week of the NCAA Division II Football 2024 season, Valdosta State football is a game away from starting those playoffs as the presumptive favorite. 

No. 1 Valdosta State handled Delta State 49-20 on Nov. 9 as the Blazers improved to 9-0 on the season.

But the story of Nov. 9 was in Big Rapids, Mich. where No. 2 Ferris State barely scraped by the clear No. 3 team in the GLIAC, Saginaw Valley, 27-24. The Bulldogs avoided their second loss of the season and remained on track for the top seed in the loaded Super Region Three. 

Grand Valley State was looking up at Ferris State in the Super Region Three rankings and perhaps the two schools won’t be starting the playoffs with an Anchor-Bone Classic rematch again as GVSU beat Michigan Tech 20-0.
