Maine Football walked away with a huge win against a Top 10 team in Villanova a few weeks ago and Elon upset William & Mary, but apart from each team having a huge win, they have had rather average seasons. Both teams are 3-3 in conference, with Maine being 5-5 on the season and Elon is 4-6. 

Both teams have struggled to consistently perform, looking like a top CAA team one week and struggling immensely the next. This week's winner will be whoever is able to play at a consistent level and come out hot to start the game. Elon has been playing pretty consistently as of late, winning three straight games after a rocky start to the season.

The problem for Elon has largely been their ability to score points late and finish games. Numerous of their losses have been by two scores or less, and just a couple more successful possessions would have had this team at the top of the CAA standings. They have had some successful, dominant games as of late, including a huge win at William & Mary. It seems that they've really found something that's working and it'll be interesting to see if they are able to continue winning as their season comes to a close. 

For Elon to extend their win streak to three, they'll have to get past the tough Maine Black Bear defense that has stifled numerous teams, including a top 10 team in Villanova. If Elon is able to put points on the board early, this should be a competitive matchup that could go either way.
