The race for the CAA Football Championship is coming down to the wire and no team can afford to drop a second game if they want to catch 6-0 Richmond. 

And that includes No. 8 Villanova Football (8-2, 5-1) which is one of four teams entering the penultimate FCS football week a game back from Richmond. The Wildcats face Monmouth on the road today looking to stay alive in the CAA race.

Monmouth (2-4, 4-6) has struggled for most of the CAA season and have lost three straight games in conference play. They end the week with back-to-back games agains teams in the conference title race with Villanova and Stony Brook.

The FCS playoffs begin on November 30, 2024.

The 2024 Division I FCS College Football Championship game will be played on January 6, 2025, at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
