Springfield Football has had another dominant season in the NEWMAC, with another conference title and an undefeated season. Still, for the last two years, they have been knocked out of the tournament by Ithaca in back-to-back seasons in 2022-2023.

Their opponent, UMass Dartmouth, will also be in the second-round matchup. They have an unbeaten 10-0 record and won the MASCAC conference title.

The game is set for noon EST at Stagg Field in Springfield, MA, and it should be a fantastic showcase of teams that will continue to hope to win it all.

Springfield vs. UMass Dartmouth Game Preview

  • If there's one thing these two teams do well, it's that they can both score football with the best of them in the division. The Pride averaged 48.6 points per game, which is still not more than the Corsairs' average of 54.2 points per game.
  • In an era where all eyes are on the offense, those statistics alone make any college football fan want to tune in regardless of who their favorite may be or what division is playing.
  • Whoever wins will send a message to not just its next opponent but the entire playoff team that times are different, and they are prone to making a run at a national title this year.
  • The victor in this second-round matchup will face one of three teams: Endicott, Cortland, or Alfred St.
