Valdosta State will take on Minnesota State in their final test en route to the 2024 D2 football national championship. The matchup kicks off at noon on Saturday, December 14 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium in Valdosta, Georgia.

For the entirety of the 2024 D2 football season, the Valdosta State Blazers have been ranked at least 7th or better. Since week 10, they've held the top spot as the undefeated teams dwindled. Now, they are the lone undefeated team standing and are on the doorstep of their seventh trip to a national championship game for the potential to earn their fifth title.

On the path to this point, the Blazers toppled No. 25 Virginia Union with a dominating 49-14 final score. Minnesota State narrowly defeated Bemidji State, 27-23.

The Minnesota State Mavericks have made the trip to the big show three times but have yet to secure the coveted national champion title. After the reseeding in the semifinals, the Mavericks earned the no. 4 seed while Ferris State and Slippery Rock earned no. 2 and no. 3 respectively

The other game begins at 3:30 p.m.— you can follow the coverage for both semifinal games here on FloCollege.
