Virginia Tech's Hype Video Perfectly Captures The Theater Of Lane Stadium
We've almost made it, friends. Football season officially begins in 13 days. While we can't make the next two weeks go by any faster, we can ensure that the next few minutes are awesome, thanks to this Virginia Tech hype video.
We're getting closer. Football season officially begins in 12 days.
Of course, much like Christmas, spring break, and the last day of school, the days seem to also grow longer as kickoff creeps nearer. We can't do much about that, but we can ensure that the next few minutes are awesome, thanks to this Virginia Tech hype video.
Questions abound for Virginia Tech in head coach Justin Fuente's second season at the helm. Still, the Hokies will open the season at No. 22 in the first Amway Coaches Poll and the optimism in Blacksburg, VA, is palpable.
Quarterback Jerod Evans, tight end Bucky Hodges, and wide receiver Isaiah Ford left some unexpected holes to fill on offense, but Fuente has options. Redshirt freshman Josh Jackson appears to be the favorite to seize the starting quarterback role, and he will have a familiar, reliable target in wide receiver Cam Phillips. Phillips needs 45 catches and 904 receiving yards to become the school's all-time leader in each category. Yosuah Nijman and Wyatt Teller lead what is expected to be a solid offensive line -- but the Hokies are accepting applications at running back.
Longtime defensive coordinator Bud Foster will be facing significant turnover along the defensive line, but Virginia Tech's back seven is as good as it gets in the ACC. The Hokies defense has the potential to be good to great. But even if it's average, the environment at Lane Stadium -- as shown above -- will still be spectacular.
Stay tuned to FloFootball all season long. The action gets started with a high school doubleheader on August 26 as No. 12 Plantation (FL) American Heritage travels to Virginia Beach (VA) Bishop Sullivan and Scottsdale (AZ) Saguaro hits the road to face Henderson (NV) Liberty.
