The top-ranked team in Washington? Check.

What you need to know about Coeur d'Alene:
The preseason top-ranked team in Idaho's Class 5A, Coeur d'Alene was forced to play the first three weeks of the season without one of the nation's most highly regarded quarterbacks, Colson Yankoff. The 6-foot-3 senior, who injured his knee as a long-jumper during track season, returned last week and showed few signs of rust.

What you need to know about Camas:
The top-ranked team in Washington's Class 4A has been as strong as expected, rolling to dominant victories in each of its first three games. The Papermakers are 85-7 since 2011 and are seeking their second consecutive state title on the heels of a 14-0 run a season ago.

Offense
A torn meniscus at the tail end of a long jump robbed Coeur d'Alene's Colson Yankoff of the first two games of his senior year, but the four-star prospect made up for lost time in his first game back. Yankoff totaled 344 yards and five touchdowns -- including four on the ground -- to lead the Vikings to a 62-43 victory over Mead (ID) two weeks ago. The Washington commit is the most talented player on the field on most nights and Friday will be no different. Keep an eye on tight end Cole Ramseyer when Yankoff goes to the air. The 6-foot-4 tight end leads the team with 219 receiving yards -- and holds offers from Air Force and Idaho, among others.

Quarterback Kyle Allen and the Camas offense have developed a habit for pouncing on opponents early. In its home opener a week ago, the Papermakers jumped ahead 28-0 against Yakima Davis (WA) before the visitors had a chance to blink -- and raced out to a 38-0 advantage before the Rams could get on the board. If no single player stands out for Camas it's due, in part, to the fact that the group is so collectively solid. Ja'Michael Shelton, Ryan Yaacoub, Will Shelton, Semisi Schultz, and senior leader Ryan Rushall are all capable difference-makers.

Advantage: Coeur d'Alene

Defense
The Coeur d'Alene defense has, at times, been an Achilles' heel for the Vikings. The unit surrendered 42 points per game through the first three games of the regular season -- including 56 in a season-opening loss to Folsom (CA). Coeur d'Alene head coach Shawn Amos hopes the group found something on Friday, however, as the Viking D dominated Moses Lake in a 35-7 win. Linebacker Ross Chadderdon paces Coeur d'Alene with 39 tackles.

Camas has allowed just 14 first half points this season -- and put up a four-spot in the first quarter of a season-opening victory over Central Catholic, like it was the top of the first inning. Rushall is a nightmare in the secondary for opposing quarterbacks, as exemplified by the havoc he wreaked on Davis quarterback Pete Ramirez -- to the tune of two interceptions -- a week ago.

Advantage: Camas

Intangibles
Both teams are coming off of emotional lifts in the past couple of weeks.

Coeur d'Alene weathered the storm without Yankoff, and the Vikings have looked spectacular since his return. Camas returned home for the first time this season, wearing red jerseys for the first time in two decades. The "state championship red" sure didn't hurt, as the Papermakers hammered Davis in a complete victory -- and the house figures to rock once again with the Vikings in town.

Advantage: Camas
