Fort Valley State found the win column for the first time a week ago and will look to get in the SIAC win column Saturday afternoon. Benedict State comes into the Upstate HBCU Classic looking for their first win of the season. The Tigers have been close, losing their previous two games by one possession.
Quarterbacks Stealing The Show
While Fort Valley State has yet to rush for over 100 yards in a game this season, Slade Jarman and the Wildcats passing attack has more than made up for that. In just three games, Jarman has thrown for nearly 600 yards and four touchdowns.
For Benedict, Phillip Brown is the signal-caller and is more of a dual-threat. Brown has accounted for 522 yards and five scores for the Tigers on the ground and in the air.
Another Chapter In The Rivalry
Despite a Benedict win a year ago, Fort Valley State has controlled this series winning six of the last eight games and the Wildcats hold an all-time 17-6 series advantage.
