The South Atlantic Conference announced its Football Players of the Week for games played during the final week of the 2022 season.  

Barton running back Jordan Terrell was tabbed as the SAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Lenoir-Rhyne defensive tackle Andre Jefferson was named SAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Carson-Newman return man Major Williams picked up SAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Terrell, a sophomore from Ramseur, North Carolina, led the Bulldogs to a 51-22 win over Erskine to close out the year last week. He rushed for 226 yards, scoring five touchdowns and hauling in two passes for eight yards. 

He finished the game with 234 yards of offense, accounting for 30 of Barton’s 51 points.

Jefferson, a sophomore from Calume Park, Illinois, set a Lenoir-Rhyne record for sacks in a game with 5.5, as the Bears defeated Tusculum 34-14. 

In addition to the sacks, Jefferson had eight tackles, including four solo tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss.

Williams, a sophomore from Fort Myers, Florida, had 111 punt return yards, including an 86-yard punt return for a touchdown in the Eagles’ 61-23 win over Catawba. 

His 111 return yards set a program record for most punt return yards in a single game at Carson-Newman. 

He also had seven tackles and one pass breakup for this record-setting day.
