CAA Football Has 12 Players Earn Stats Perform Preseason All-America Honors
CAA Football had 12 players honored on the 2022 Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America team that was announced Monday morning.

Earning first-team All-America accolades were Villanova senior offensive lineman Michael Corbi, William & Mary junior defensive lineman Nate Lynn, New Hampshire sophomore defensive lineman Josiah Silver and Delaware senior safety Kedrick Whitehead.
Making the second team were Monmouth senior running back Juwon Farri, Richmond graduate student wide receiver Jakob Herres, Stony Brook graduate student offensive lineman Kyle Nunez and Richmond junior linebacker Tristan Wheeler.
Chosen to the third team were Stony Brook senior running back Ty Son Lawton, Rhode Island junior offensive lineman Nick Correia, Elon senior safety Cole Coleman and Monmouth graduate student punter Ryan Kost.
Corbi was a second-team All-America pick last year, after spearheading an offensive line that allowed just 14 sacks and helped Villanova average 30.0 points per game.
Lynn recorded 52 tackles and was among FCS leaders with 12 sacks and six forced fumbles to garner first-team All-America honors.
Silver, the CAA Defensive Rookie of the Year and an All-America selection in 2021, contributed 80 tackles, 20.5 TFL, 12.5 sacks and six forced fumbles for UNH.
Whitehead, an All-America choice for the past two seasons, tallied 76 tackles and eight pass breakups a year ago.

Farri, a first-team All-Big South selection, rushed for 705 yards and eight touchdowns last season, despite missing three games due to injury.
Herres caught 47 passes for 500 yards and five touchdowns in only eight games at VMI last fall.
Nunez, a four-time All-CAA honoree, helped Stony Brook average 176.1 yards on the ground with 19 touchdowns last season.
Wheeler topped the CAA with 114 tackles and intercepted two passes in 2021 to garner All-America accolades.
Lawton rushed for a league-high 1,088 yards and 10 TDs last season and received first-team All-CAA honors.
Correia, who has started 26 straight games at guard, helped URI's offense average better than 25 points per game and received all-conference recognition.
Coleman made the All-CAA first team in 2021 after registering a team-high 71 tackles and 3.5 TFL.
Kost ranked eighth nationally by averaging 44.3 yards per punt and made the All-Big South first team for the second time.
